Standardised installation and structured initial setup

EPLAN Recommendations

EPLAN has supplied you with a project management database and activated it by default. We recommend the following:

  • Use the standard project management database "$(MD_PROJECTS)\Projects.db" as an internal training and test database.
  • Create a new database for your productive projects

Create a new database

  1. On the ribbon, select the File tab > Backstage Settings > Settings Users > Management > Project Management Database.
  2. For "EPLAN", select the + button (New). The "Create new EPLAN database" dialog opens.
  3. Now create your new project management database, assign a meaningful file name starting with your company ID (XYZ) e.B. "[XYZ]_Projects.*".
  4. Close the dialog with [Save].
  5. The newly created database is then entered as a project management database in the settings and is thus automatically selected.
  6. Finish your setting with [Apply] and [Ok].
